This week’s challenge was to find someone and take an expressive portrait. I grabbed my new nifty fifty lens and got to work. This was definitely my favorite:
This is the expression Karter had when he saw himself in the newspaper this week. He did an interview the day prior, so he knew it was coming but seeing was believing! He’s still living off that high! Check out his newspaper article here:
My runner up photos for this week's challenge are these:
Don't you just love those beautifully blurred backgrounds!? That's attributed by the 1.8 aperture on my new nifty fifty lens. Check it out here:
Don't forget to use the hash tags and feel free to tag me in your shots as well!

There's nothing like waiting till the last minute to do this week's photo challenge. I was for sure super busy this weekend with a swim meet but honestly this week's challenge was stumping me. We have lived in our current neighborhood for over 3 years now and it's quiet, there's not many stories to tell verbally let along photographically!
My momma helped a little bit by reminding me the high school in our neighborhood shares the name of a high school from our hometown county, Lakeland High School (Suffolk, Va and Lakeland, FL). It's a funny story of coincidence. I did come up with something else too. Our neighborhood area sits on the outskirts of town and has a middle school, high school, college, and YMCA Summer Camp all on the same road and yet no sidewalks...so my winner this week is this picture with the caption: You might need a sidewalk if...
I'm hoping it's coming soon, since there's a huge project in the works where they're widening the main road.
Don't forget to use the hash tags and feel free to tag me in your shots as well!

Week 2 of the 2020 weekly photo challenge is to shoot your favorite meal and play with different angles. Chicken Bacon Ranch is a favorite recipe in our home, it's pretty much exactly what's in the title plus spinach and cheese! Best part is, it's Keto! I will say though, it's not the most pretty or photogenic dish, even Krissy says it tastes better than it looks! My favorite angle was a macro shot of a serving on the plate! Here are some of the runner up photos: If this meal intrigues you, comment below letting me know...I can post my recipe! Join in on the challenge with me, check out the information here: #MyPhotoEye
#Week2 #52WeekPhotoChallenge #FavoriteMeal Week 1 of the 2020 Weekly Photo Challege is selfie using the timer! This one was tough because I'm used to hiding behind the camera or behind my kids. Do you like how I still found things to hide behind!? Once I got going I really got some great shots, these were my runner ups: A little tip for this challenge: use an object as a target for where you plan to be in the photo to allow your camera to have something to focus on, trigger your timer and then hop in where your target is. For the laptop shot, my camera kept focusing on the laptop or the door, nothing in between so I ended up using one of my kids then pushed him out of the way for the picture! I spy with my photographic eye a 2020 weekly photo challenge. Photo challeges are a great way to get you to think out of the box, build creativity and get more comfortable with your camera. Challenges are great for all levels of photographers. You can take on this challenge with an iphone, a point and shoot, 35mm film, or DSLR. I'm really looking forward to taking on this challenge.
So here's how it works:
Here's the weekly breakdown of the photochallenge, I'm starting the new year off on week 1, feel free to start anytime in the year. Hop in on our current week and/or play catch up from the start. Feel free to tag me on social media!
This awesome photo challege was originally created by Personal Creations back in 2017. After lots of searching for a good photo challenge for this year, this was my favorite, so I adapted it for my family and friends.
